Reeds can easily last one month or more (with daily playing) if they are well taken care of.  The player needs to make sure that the tip remains free from any trauma, if possible.  If the corners of the tip become damaged or frayed ,which can happen even with normal playing, the life expectancy of the reed from that point on will be usually less. 

Sometimes reeds can last as long as three months!  That is, however, atypical. Cane quality influences the longevity, too, as does the opening.
