The importance of a good oboe or bassoon reed can't be underestimated, as you know. We also know that there is the possibility that you, as a teacher of double reed instruments, may not want to or cannot keep up with the reed making demands of your studio. We offer you and your students any assistance you may need. That would include any specific requirements you may have in terms of resistance of the reed, opening, length of tip, etc. should you want to teach in a particular style or school of playing.

To the Middle School, High School or College Instrumental Music Teacher or Conductor:

Your support of your double reed section is vital! Although they may be relatively few in number, oboe and bassoon students are typically high achievers, highly academic, very independent, and extremely self reliant. Please offer them the support of connecting them to good reed sources. Ask that your Boosters contribute to the cost of reeds and even reed making supplies to your young oboists and bassoonists.
